What it takes

It’s the only place in Rutherford County that takes tires and brush. The Leanna Center takes some paint and some household hazardous waste. The Rutherford County Transfer Station takes construction debris.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Rutherford County rules

  • The Haley Road center has been closed for remodeling since June 24, 2024. Don’t go there; the county will post when it reopens.
  • The county landfill takes only brush and tires off the rim, and charges everyone: brush is $30 a ton (no paper yard-waste bags), and tires are $2 each.
