Run by Tipton County Public Works.

What it takes

It’s the only place in Tipton County that takes electronics, used motor oil, and batteries. The Tipton County Landfill takes tires, brush, and construction debris. The Tipton County Convenience Center takes appliances, mattresses, and some paint.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Tipton County rules

  • You need a landfill permit to drop off: $35 a year (July 1 to June 30) at the Landfill Office or the Public Works Office, or a $5 day pass. Permits are sold only to Tipton County residents with two proofs of address. Recycling needs no permit.
  • The landfill only takes waste from inside Tipton County.
  • Cardboard, #1 and #2 plastic, and newspaper recycling bins are also in Munford at Haddad’s and in Covington by the Water Plant Tower.
