Sumner County convenience centers and dump hours
Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers the Portland Convenience Center, the Resource Authority Transfer Station, and the Resource Authority Recycle Convenience Center. The Portland Convenience Center is run by the City of Portland, not the county. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.
What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more
Before you go
- Sumner County doesn’t run convenience centers. Garbage, recycling, and brush pickup are handled city by city, so check with your city. The Resource Authority’s transfer station in Gallatin takes waste from across the county for a fee.
Convenience centers
- The Portland center takes no household trash, paint, tires, roofing, concrete, brick, rock, or hazardous materials, and no commercial haulers.
