What it takes
It’s the only place in Jefferson County that takes tires, appliances, mattresses, some paint, electronics, brush, and some construction debris.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Jefferson County rules
- Bag all household garbage.
- Residents hauling waste from their own home have a 1,000-pound daily limit at the landfill. A heavier load is charged the $60-per-ton tipping fee on its whole weight.
- Waste from rental properties counts as commercial and is charged the tipping fee by weight. Waste from a vacation home you own and don’t rent out counts as residential.
- The landfill isn’t taking commercial construction or demolition waste while its demolition area is overfull. Residents can still bring it while space lasts.
- Loads that aren’t covered and tied down are charged an extra $40, or $75 for a repeat offense.
