Craven County convenience centers and dump hours
Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers seven convenience centers and the Tuscarora Landfill (Regional Landfill). The Tuscarora Landfill (Regional Landfill) is run by Coastal Regional Solid Waste Management Authority, not the county. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.
Convenience centers
- Household garbage at the convenience centers needs trash stickers: one for up to 33 gallons (50 pounds), two for up to 64 gallons (100 pounds), three for up to 90 gallons (150 pounds). Recycling, bulky waste such as furniture and carpet, and small amounts of construction debris are taken too.
- The convenience centers take no contractor or business waste, tandem-axle trailers, trailers over 10 feet, box trucks, hazardous waste, pallets, or tires.

Landfills
- At the Tuscarora Landfill, tell the scale operator what you’re bringing and unload where staff direct you. Cars and small trucks with household loads use the residential drop-off area. Keep yard waste separate and out of plastic bags; mixed in, it costs twice the trash rate. The landfill takes no motor oil, car batteries, pesticides, or liquids.
