What it takes

It’s the only place in Robertson County that takes tires, appliances, mattresses, paint, electronics, brush, construction debris, used motor oil, and batteries.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Robertson County rules

  • Trash and construction materials are $85 a ton from inside the county and $100 a ton from outside, with an $8 minimum, weighed in 20-pound steps. Brush is $50 a ton. Anything with a compressor or capacitor, like a refrigerator or air conditioner, is $10 extra, and propane cylinders are $4.
  • The transfer station recycles cardboard, plastics #1 through #7, clear glass, metal, used oil, car and rechargeable batteries, cell phones, electronics, and household paint. Some of these are free to recycle.
  • The transfer station takes no hazardous materials. Gas tanks and other closed cylinders need special preparation, so call 615-384-0683 first.
