What it takes

It’s the only place in Cocke County that takes tires, mattresses, and construction debris.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Cocke County rules

  • The landfill and convenience centers are for Cocke County residents only. Garbage, tires, and construction debris from outside the county aren’t accepted.
  • Every convenience center is open Monday through Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. The county doesn’t post where the centers are, so call 423-623-6498 for the nearest one.
  • The convenience centers take household garbage, with bins for paper, plastic, and aluminum recycling and containers for motor oil, oil filters, transmission fluid, and used cooking oil.
