What it takes
It’s one of three Wilson County convenience centers that take brush. The Wilson County Landfill takes construction debris and used motor oil.
Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.
Wilson County rules
- The 13 convenience centers serve the Wilson County Solid Waste District (unincorporated areas; towns and cities aren’t in it), and you must show a valid User Permit. District households pay a $45 yearly solid waste availability fee on the property tax bill; extra permits are $45 at the Solid Waste Services Office, and people outside the district can buy a $65 yearly temporary permit (252-399-2823).
- The centers take household garbage, recycling, appliances, up to 5 tires, electronics, and cooking oil from district households only. Glass bottles and jars go in the yellow dumpsters. Business and industrial waste goes to the landfill.
