Orange County convenience centers and dump hours

North Central North Carolina, on Eastern time

Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers five convenience centers and the Orange County Landfill. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.

What to do with tires, mattresses, paint, and more

Convenience centers

  • The Waste and Recycling Centers are for Orange County households only, with no business or contractor waste. Each household may visit one center once on a weekday and once on a weekend, for no more than 10 minutes, with up to one pickup truck load (120 cubic feet) and the load tied down.
  • Residents can bring up to 60 cubic feet of construction debris from their own home a day or weekend (about a level 8-by-5-foot truck bed, 2 feet deep) to any center but Bradshaw Quarry, with proof of residency. A bigger load isn’t taken at all, even in part. Scrap metal, cardboard, and plain lumber go in the recycling bins.
