What it takes

The Moore County Landfill takes tires, brush, and construction debris. The Carthage Collection Site takes used motor oil and some batteries.

Each item has its own rules. Check before you go.

Moore County rules

  • Moore County has no curbside pickup of its own; towns and private haulers offer it. Its seven staffed compactor sites take household trash and recycling: cans, cardboard, glass, paper, plastic, appliances, and scrap metal. Call 910-947-3637 with questions about the sites.
