Franklin County convenience centers and dump hours
Convenience centers are what most people call the dump. This page covers 12 convenience centers and the Franklin County Transfer Station. Each one’s hours are posted below, with the rules that apply.
Convenience centers
- The 12 convenience centers are for households in unincorporated Franklin County. Businesses, industries, and institutions need the Solid Waste Director’s permission, or take their waste to the transfer station or a private hauler. Properties pay a $110 yearly solid waste availability fee.

Transfer stations
- The transfer station charges $54 a ton for household waste, $67 a ton for commercial and construction waste, and $41 a ton for yard waste. Secure your load: an unsecured load is illegal in North Carolina.
